Ida Olivia Hanka 1895 - 1983

Ida Olivia (Sarppo) Hanka was born in April 1895 to John Sarppo and Valpuri Sarppo, and had siblings Eino Arvid Sarppo, Amelia Gustava Baier, Emil Jacob Sarppo, Hilma Ester Lavaque, and Walter Leonard Sarppo. Ida Hanka died at age 88 years old in August 1983.

In 1895, in the year that Ida Olivia Hanka was born, on March 15th, in County Tipperary, Ireland, Michael Cleary killed his wife of 8 years, Bridget, and burned her body. His defense was that his "wife" was a changeling that was left in his real wife's place when she was abducted by fairies. He was nonetheless convicted and imprisoned for manslaughter. He spent 15 years in prison.
