He had siblings Edward Cumley Scarlett, Ellsworth Leondas Scarlett, Effie Scarlett, Elmer Scarlett, Estella Scarlett, Emma Josephine Scarlett, Edna Grace Scarlett, Gertrude Ellen Scarlett, and Esther Irene Scarlett. Elbert Scarlett died at age 65 years old in June 1963.
