Introduction

The News, Adelaide. 24th January 1931. IN NINETY-SECOND YEAR. Death of Mrs. E. O'Brien. Mrs. Elizabeth O'Brien, who died yesterday at her home in Glynde road, Firle, was in her ninety-second year. She was born at Bristol, England. At the age of nine years she arrived in South Australia with her parents, and settled at North Adelaide. After her marriage to Mr. T. Pegler ( her first husband) the late Mrs. O'Brien became licensee of the Alma Hotel, Norwood. She had lived in the eastern suburbs for more than 60 years. There is no family. ( Glynde road is now called Glynburn road ) The South Australian Register. 15th August 1865. MARRIAGE. PEGLER.- JONES. On the 14th August, at Christchurch, by the Rev. J. R. Titherington, Thomas J. Pegler, of King William-street, Adelaide, to Elizabeth Sarah, eldest daughter of Mr. Felix Jones, North Adelaide. The South Australia Register. Adelaide. 27th February 1888. - MARRIAGES. O'BRIEN. - PEGLER. On the 14th February, at the residence of the Roman Catholic Bishop, West Terrace, by the Rev. Archdeacon Russell, William, eldest surviving son of ex- Head Constable M. O'Brien, Limerick, to E. S. Pegler, of Norwood.
