Ernest Frank Baker 1895 - 1974

Ernest Frank Baker was born on September 28, 1895 at Krambruk, Apollo Bay in Victoria Australia to Richard Joye Baker and Honora (Curtis) Baker, and had siblings Albert Otway Baker, Arthur Valentine Baker, Queenie Norah Cliffy (Baker) Graham, Adelaide Catherine (Baker) Noyes, Annie Joye (Baker) Griffith, Beryl Floris Doreen (Baker) Cameron, and Richard Joye Benjamin Baker. He married Elsie (Cotton) Baker in 1924, and had children Kenneth Baker, John "Jack" Curtis Baker, and Ernest "Clive" Baker. Ernest Baker died at age 79 years old on November 21, 1974 in Blackburn South, and was buried on November 26, 1974 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery Princes Hwy, in Springvale.

    The Geelong Advertiser, July 1916. AIREY'S INLET. Late new's from France brings word that Corporal E. Baker is fit and well, and in the thick of the fight. His brother Bert, is at present in London. The Geelong Advertiser, November 1916. AIREY'S INLET. Sgt Ernest Baker and his sister, Nurse Baker, spent the week-end with their parent's at Split Point. On Monday night Sgt. Baker was tendered a hearty farewell at his parents home. Married Elsie Cotton in 1924. The Townsville Daily Bulletin, 8 August 1937. THURSDAY ISLAND NOTES. Thursday Island July 17. The Cape Leeuwin which has been cruising about the Straits attending the numerous lighthouses, called in here last Friday afternoon and picked up Mr. Greencock, the lighthouse mechanic, and his wife and family who are on transfer to Brisbane. His place was filled by Mr. Baker from Melbourne.
