She had siblings Dorothy Maud Adams, Albert George Leslie Adams, Beatrice May Adams, and Elsie Hazel Adams. She married David Ross Gillespie in 1941, and had a child Carol Ann Gillespie. Florence Gillespie died at age 89 years old on October 7, 2009 in Preston.
