She married Cleophas John LeGrand on April 19, 1947, and they were married until Freeda's death on August 23, 2009. Freeda LeGrand had children Janice K. LeGrand, Beverly A. (LeGrand) LaBonte, Brenda Gail (LeGrand) Cross, Michael LeGrand, Mark A. LeGrand, and Stephen Mason LeGrand.

LeGRAND, Freeda V. – of Clio, age 81, died Sunday, August 23, 2009. Funeral Services will be held 10am Friday, August 28, 2009 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Fr. Gerald. J. Ploof officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-8pm where a vigil service will be held at 7pm and Friday from 9am until time of service. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Freeda was born September 26, 1927 in New Madrid, MO to the late Harold and Lula (Keene) Higgerson. She lived in Michigan from 1954 to 1984 moving to Florida. She returned to Michigan in 1994. Freeda married Cleophas on April 19, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Surviving are: Husband, Cleophas of Clio; 5 children, Stephen (Kathleen) LeGrand of Flushing, Janice (Thomas) Moffitt of Fenton, Beverly (Robert) LaBonte of Clio and Brenda LeGrand-Cross of Burton, Michael (Gloria) LeGrand of Indiana; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Glenda) Higgerson Jr. of MO; several nieces and nephews.
