He married Glinda Ree (Henry) Higgerson on February 8, 1958 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, and they were married until Harold's death on May 11, 2016. He had children Harold J. Higgerson III, Cynthia Diane Higgerson, Thomas Wayne Higgerson, and Michelle Renee (Higgerson) Wamsley. Harold Higgerson was buried at Evergreen Cemetery 9712 S Hwy 61, in New Madrid, New Madrid County, MO.
