He also married Paulina Florentine Scholtz Mihan, and they had children Agnes Christine Mihan, Frederick William Miehen, William Frederick Mihan, Louisa (Mihan) Gerlach, Charles Albert Mihan, Mina Hermina Mihan, and Emil Rudolph Mihan. Frederick Mihan died at age 76 years old on September 11, 1901 in Burwood, VIC Australia.
