Gary Lynn Thomas was born on May 21, 1951 in Glade Spring, Washington County, Virginia United States to James Harold Thomas and Mabel Virginia Thomas, and had siblings Janet Carol Bentley, John David Thomas, and Sharon Elizabeth Johnson. He married Linda Gordon Thomas in 1972 in Stanley, Gaston County, North Carolina, and they were married until Gary's death on January 3, 2021 at Atrium Health Lincoln 433 McAlister Road, in Lincolnton, Lincoln County. He had children Michelle Lynn Johanson and Marsha Anne Tarte. Gary Thomas was buried on January 7, 2021 in Stanley, Gaston County.
