Golden Claude Williams of 8911 Thompson Avenue, in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri United States was born on August 23, 1903 in Versailles, Morgan County. He married Lydia Alma (Vaughn) Williams in 1925 and they later divorced. They had children Claud Edwin Williams, George Earl Williams, Ethel Louella (Williams) Smith, Juanita June (Williams) Campbell, and Patricia A. (Williams) Farris. He would also marry Edith D. (Dolan) Williams on July 3, 1953, and they were married until Golden's death on June 6, 1975.

    Golden Claude Williams, 71, of 8911 Thompson, died Friday at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Versailles, Missouri, and had lived in the Independence area 32 years. He had been employed 23 years as a welder at the General Motors plant in Leeds. He was a member of Blue Summit Baptist Church and United Auto Workers Local 93. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith (Dolan) Williams of the home; two sons, George E. Williams, Ravalli, Montana, and Thomas Williams, Versailles, Missouri; three daughters, Mrs. Louella Smith, 8901 Thompson, Mrs. Juanitta Campbell and Mrs. Patricia Farris, both of Versailles; a step daughter, Mrs. Georgia (Coles) Enss, 10528 East Tenth; a stepson, Billy Coles, Phoenix, Arizona; four brothers, Cecil Williams, 1106 Stone, Elmer Williams, 1020 Savage, Lester Williams, 1628 Alice, Blue Summit, and Robert Williams, 1314 Winchester, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Blankenship, Sedalia, and Mrs. Ethel Crawford, California, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Earp Chapel, Kansas City, with burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
