Gordette was the only child (I think) of Gordon and Margie Brown who lived on De Wolfe street in Des Moines, Iowa. Her father and my parents were good friends and Gordette and I spent time together on different occasions from about 1968 to 1971. She was a charming girl and fun to be around. After my family moved to another city, I never saw her again, but learned that sadly she had died of cancer when she was way too young.
