Introduction

Howard Earl Wilkinson's father was Earl Gaskin Wilkinson (1922 - 1990) and his mother was Lovie Virginia Couch (1927 - 2007). He had a sister and a brother. When Howard was 9 months old, he was living with his parents and paternal uncle Chester, 32, in New York City. Dad was working for the Post Office (he later retired after 43 years) and so was Uncle Chester. Howard married Velma Orene (Thomas) Wilkinson in 1973 in Manhattan. She filed for divorce in December of 1992 in the Bronx.
