Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

Isaac Leake is the earliest known descendant of Philip Leek (1611-1676) with the Leake, Leek, or Leeke surname to pose for a photo. He was named after his older brother who died in infancy. He had wavy hair, perhaps a little below average in height, & a prominent " croquet" expression of the mouth when not in a happy mood. He wed after 1810 in N.Y. to Catherine Tillinghast and had 8 children. His gravestone in Michigan still exists. If not from his personal records, someone preferred the Julian calendar style in listing his birthdate as March 5,1782. His relationship to this writer is three times great granduncle.
