James S. Anderson 1826-1885
James S Anderson came to Stillwater, Minnesota as one of its earliest residents in 1846.He engaged in blacksmithing for a time.In 1869 he formed a partnership under the firm name of McKusick, Anderson, & Co which built and operated a large saw mill. He had several other business affiliations in the lumbering industry, including a position as a director of the Lumberman's National Bank. He was also a Mason and a very well respected and loved member of the community.
