    The Mount Alexander Mail. Vic. 20th August 1900. The many friends of Mr. W. Thwaites ( of McCay and Thwaites ) will hear with sympathy of the death of his father, Mr. James Thwaites, of Tallangatta. The deceased gentleman, who had reached the comparatively early age of 59, died on Friday morning after a long and painful illness. He was along time engaged in pastoral pursuits at Warrnambool, but about 20 years ago bought the "Tatonga" estate on the Upper Murray. Mr. Thwaites leaves a widow and 10 grown-up children. One of the sons and one of the daughters are married to a daughter and son of the Rev. Dr. McCay.
