JEMIMA LILLIAN ORDISH Although she has been in ill-health for some months, the sudden death of Mrs. Jemima Lillian Ordish, which occurred at her residence, 42 Scott street, Dandenong, on July 2nd, came as a great shock to her relatives and friends. She is mourned by one daughter (Myra) and one son (Jack) both of whom have the sympathy of their numerous friends in the loss of a devoted mother. The late Mrs. Ordish was born at Caulfield and was the widow of the late Mr. Edgar Ordish, a member of one of Dandenong's best known early families. She, herself, was a member of a well known Dandenong family, her maiden name being Miss Jemima Anderson. Throughout a long and useful life she earned the liking and goodwill of a host of friends, and her funeral last Friday was largely attended. Many wreaths covered the coffin. Messrs. P. Smale, F. A. Singleton, A. Crump, B. Vizard, H. Johnson, R. Brooks, W. and R. Marriott and T. James, all firm friends of a fine old lady, acted as pallbearers. The Rev. B. R. Toi conducted the service at the home and the Rev. V. F. Hadley read the burial service. Deceased was an adherent of Scots’ Church. Messrs. W. J. Garnar and Son attended to the funeral arrangements. @ Newspapers & Gazettes Browse The Dandenong Journal (Vic. : 1927 - 1954) Wed 8 Jul 1942; Page 5; Obituary @
