  • Obituary

The Woodend Star. Vic. Sat. 6th July 1901. - MACEDON. I regret to have to record the death of Mr. John J. Memory, the only son of Mr. James Memory, of Upper Macedon. The sad event occurred at Bendigo on Monday last. The deceased had been in failing health for months past, and was receiving medical treatment in Echuca, and recently in Bendigo. He was only 32 years of age. Much sympathy is felt and expressed for his widow and three young children, and also for his aged parents, in their bereavement. His remains were conveyed from Bendigo to his parents' residence on Wednesday last and interred in the local cemetery on Thursday. The funeral was largely attended by his relatives and friends, by whom he was greatly esteemed and deservedly respected. In connection with the interment, I may refer to a wreath contributed to the collection of floral tributes by the employees of the State Nursery as deserving of special mention.
