    Joseph H. Brown was the son of Joseph Hill Brown born in Mansfield Connecticut on June 19, 1768 until July 28, 1828. Joseph worked as a Rooming/Boarding Merchant in Connecticut. Joseph H. Brown is a relative of John Brown born in Torrington Connecticut USA. As far as we know Joseph was not involved in the Abolishment Movement with his cousins and uncles. However we may never know if he helped with the underground railroad by giving slaves a place to stay? I have always wondered? Nancy Amanda Lyman his wife is from a wealthy family of Lymans who did contribute financially to help the cause to free slaves. Joseph and Nancy were known as kind and humble people who believed in human equality.
