He was in a relationship with Phebe Hockett, and had children Jesse Hockett, Phillip Hockett, Nathan Hockett, Mahlon Hockett, William Hockett, and Isaiah Hockett. Joseph Hockett died at age 79 years old on July 17, 1815 in Guilford County, NC.
