    Josephine and her brother (Orval Harvey Thomas) had a son (Keith Virgil Thomas) (my 1/2 uncle/1/2 brother) together he died in 1945? Keith and his 1/2 Uncle (Andrew Augusta Murry Jr.) were walk'n to school (It was Keith 1st year of school) Keith was walk'n along on the curb and his 1/2 Uncle Andrew "Dud" push Keith into the moving traffic, and a milk truck hit him. They took him to the Hoisington Hospital but he died that day. He is buried in Peabody Kansas, where his Grandparents Elwood and Ann (Heath) Ward are buried too.

In 1916, in the year that Josephine v. (Thomas) Lewis was born, suffragette Jeannette Pickering Rankin became the first woman elected to the House of Representatives as a Representative at large from Montana. She was the first woman to hold an elected Federal office. Holding the office for two years, she ran again in 1940 and served another two year term. Montana had granted women unrestricted voting rights in 1914, 6 years before women got the vote nationally.
