Joshua Upcott Rundell 1830 - 1886

Joshua Upcott Rundell was born in 1830 to William Rundell and Lucy (Upcott) Rundell, and had a brother Matthew Upcott Rundell. He was in a relationship with Mary Ann Elizabeth (Hodgson-Brown) Rundell, and had children Hodgson Brown Rundell, Hodgson Brown Rundell, and Lucy Upcott Rundell. Joshua Rundell died at age 56 years old in 1886.

Rundell, timber converter, H. M. Dockyard, Devonport, to Miss Mary Anne Elizabeth Hodgson Brown, daughter of Hodgson Brown, boatswain, H. M. ship Conway, Queenstown, Ireland.

In 1830, in the year that Joshua Upcott Rundell was born, on March 26th, The Book of Mormon was published in Palmyra, New York by Joseph Smith, Jr. The full title was "The Book of Mormon: An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon Plates Taken from the Plates of Nephi". According to Smith, the angel Moroni appeared to him when he was 17 and told him where to find golden tablets that told the story of a people who migrated from Jerusalem to the Americas. He transcribed the tablets, which became the Book of Mormon.
