KATRHRINA OLGA BANKS, 90, b. Williams, July 17, 1882, d. Clearlake Highlands, Lake County, Jan. 22, 1973.
Miss Banks was a daughter of the late Jim and Nelle Banks, pioneer settlers of the Williams area. She taught school for many years in Colusa County and elsewhere, finally serving on faculty of Yuba College at Marysville, teaching English to those seeking citizenship. She retired from teaching 15 years ago.
Miss Banks was an honorary life member of the Colusa County Historical Society, a member of the Colusa County Garden Club, the Colusa Women's Club and a member of the American Association of University Women, taking an active role in its Creative Writers Guild. She wrote poetry of note and often was invited to read at literary gatherings.
Numerous cousins survive her.
Interment was in the Williams Cemetery.
