  • Early Life & Education

My father received his high school diploma in Sanford, Maine. After he graduated , the family moved to Windsor, Canada to establish a new life. While in Windsor, he met the love of his life, Laurette Antonia Gagnon Boulanger, and married her. Dad and mom moved to Westbrook, Maine to make a life of their own where they were employed by the S. D. Warren Paper Company. My father was a brilliant man!!! Dad could adapt to any type of engineering problem given and he would be able to fix it. Dad was a Combustion Engineer! He was always called on to fix any type of mechanical issues that happen at the mill. Dad was also the Engineer for a train that hauled the logs into the mill. In all, Dad was "a man of all trade." He didn't need a degree to do what he could do. He was born an engineer! I'm so proud of my father! I would also like to mention his brothers. They were also brilliant in their own field. I'm truelly proud the Porell men!
