Mae Helen Carver was born on November 20, 1935 to the union of D.A. Carver Sr. and Grace Orr in Sardis Mississippi. Mae received her education at Walton Chapel High School in Batesville, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served many years. Mae Helen Carver was united in holy matrimony at the age of eighteen to John Henry Lewis on January 25, 1953, in Panola County of Mississippi. She later moved with her husband to Milwaukee, Wkin 1955 and joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in 1956 and then later rededicated her life to Christ under the direction and leadership of Reverend Leroy B. Mixon in 1980, where she served as a Missionary member and sang in the Senior Choir. She was employed by Kohl's Distribution Center in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin from where she retired in 2002. In her leisure, Mae enjoyed playing pool (billiards) with her friends, Pokeno with her family and playing bingo at the Clinton Rose Senior Center. She also loved to travel with her sisters, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Mae Helen Lewis was called home to be with Christ as her Lord and Savior on June 26, 2013 at 9:45pm. She was proceeded in death by her parents D.A. Carver Sr. and Grace Carver, her brothers Rogaster Carver, Robert Earl Carver, Elijah Carver, D.A. Carver Jr., Andrew Norwood, Johnny Carver, J.P. Carver, James Carver and her two children Willie and Patricia "Pat" Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Delia (Richard) Moffatt, Eva Carver, and brothers Lee (Helena) Carver, Earnest (Laura) Walker, and Sam Carver; her sons Calvin Lewis, Rodney (Sheri) Lewis, Chris Lewis, and Terry Lewis; her daughters Janice Burrows, Vanessa (Lindsay) Wilder, Yvette (Harry) Galonski, Ylonda "Dee" (Robert) Glover, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many more friends and family.
