Charles unexpectedly passed away in 1947 of a brain aneurysm in Arlington Virginia while continuing his career with the Navy, Margaret was left with sons Charles "Butch" and 2 year old John David "Spike" Adams Sell. She later re-married on June 11, 1949 in Ukiah, Mendocino, California, USA to Harley Kent Nauman (1910–1973), USNA class of 1934. They had a daughter together Deborah Jane Nauman.

This is a colorized portrait of Margaret Elizabeth Sell, aka: Bobbie, with her eldest son Charles Francis Adams Sell, aka: Butch, in the fall of 1943. It was a Christmas gift she sent to her husband, Charles Francis Sell, USNA class of '32, while he was serving on the USS Alabama in the Pacific Theater of WW2 off the coast of Japan. Charles Francis died in 1947, unexpectedly, of a brain aneurysm in Arlington Virginia while continuing his career with the Navy leaving Margaret, son Charles (Butch) and 2 year old son John David Adams Sell, aka: Spike. Margaret later went on to marry Harley Kent Nauman, USNA class of 1934, and had daughter Deborah Jane Nauman.
