Maria Ann (Leroy) Pettifer of Parkville, VIC Australia was born on March 4, 1865 in Whroo to Alfred Frederic Le Roy and Maria Ann (Hamon) LeRoy. She had siblings Thomas Leroy, John William Leroy, Christina Leroy, Caroline Leroy Jones, Lydia Le Roy, and William John Leroy. She married James Martin Pettifer in 1884, and had children Thomas Joseph Pettifer, Edith Caroline (Pettifer) Yewdall, Elsie Emma Pettifer, Caroline "Carrie" Pettifer, May Evelyn Pettifer, James Alfred Pettifer, and John "Jack" William Pettifer. Maria Pettifer died at age 92 years old on November 20, 1957 at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Grattan Street,, in Parkville, and was buried at Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Bell Street,, in Preston.
