Walter was a postal clerk for the United States mail when Marjorie was in grade school. She had younger sisters, Athlea Beyer and Vivian Beyer. In 1938, Marjorie was attending Lansdowne High School in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, and living in East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. By 1941, she was attending the University of California at Los Angeles, California. she was listed as being a Junior and in Alpha Chi Omega, a sorority. She was married to Albert Davis (1916-2007) for 62 years. They had children Kenneth, Glenn, and Thomas Davis.
