Mr. Williams was born in Marked Tree and had lived most of his time in Trumann. He was a retired farmer, veteran of the US Army and World War II, where he received a purple heart. He was of the Church of God belief. Her mother Sally was born on April 5, 1917 and passed away on January 8, 2001 in Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, USA. Born at Marked Tree, she had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann, was a housewife and was of the Church of God belief.

Mary Ann Williams Mitchel, 77 of McCrory, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. Mary was born July 4, 1936 in Trumann to the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Short) Williams. She is also preceded in death by grandparents Wheeler and Nora Short, son Robert Karow, granddaughter Stormie Ward, and sisters June Ellen Huckaby, Louise Raymond, Lois Collett, and Alma Wilson. Mrs. Mitchell was a wonderful mother, friend, sister and wife. She was a member of Crossroads Church of God in Colt. She is survived by husband J.W. "Dink" Mitchell; children William Karow of Ft. Smith, Sheila Cantrell of Colt, Jeffrey Karow of Wynne, David Karow of Pocahontas, and Tonya Brown of McCrory; sisters Betty Hogland of Kansas, Bonnie Tesch of Kansas, Lucille Moreland of Trumann, Kay Chapman of Jonesboro, Doris Exum of Pleasant Grove, and Marilyn Keiffero of Trumann; brothers Jerry Williams of Trumann, Franklin Williams of Forrest City, Sonny Williams of Trumann, and Bud Williams of Marked Tree; grandchildren Kathryn Brown, Samuel Brown, Zoey Brown, and Silas Brown of McCrory, Natasha Karow, Courtney Karow, Maggie Karow and Nicohlas Karow of Ft. Smith, Benjamin Karow of Booneville, DJ Karow, Daniel Karow, Jessie Karow and Shelby Karow of Ft. Smith, and Amanda Karow and Stephen Karow of Hughes; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews of Arkansas and Kansas. Services: Visitation will be at 1pm with graveside service to begin at 2pm Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Fakes Cemetery in McCrory, officiated by Bro. Roger Smith.
