I knew both Mert and his wife Emma. I lived nearby and used to visit them regularly and often. They lived in the back of an A-frame building and the front part was their shop (The Weavery) where they had their looms and gallery. Mert did weaving and water colors, and Emma did weaving and sewed various items. Both amazing, friendly, caring, honest people who treated me like family. Mert had his artist's studio upstairs in the loft and they also had an electric organ that I would play.
