    Nancy was a very loving and caring Mother, wife, sister, Grandma and so much more to her family and friends. She would do whatever she could for anyone and had many hobbies; like: pinnacle, bingo, crocheting, crosswords puzzles, outdoors with family on barbecues, she brought out the best in all and made the holidays; especially Christmas so special. She will be forever greatly missed and loved. RIP - until we meet again. Love your daughter - Michelle (Missy)

In 1931, in the year that Nancy M (Young) Pronteau was born, in March, “The Star Spangled Banner” officially became the national anthem by congressional resolution. Other songs had previously been used - among them, "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", "God Bless America", and "America the Beautiful". There was fierce debate about making "The Star Spangled Banner" the national anthem - Southerners and veterans organizations supported it, pacifists and educators opposed it.
