Introduction

Novell Lunsford Young was born in Garrison, Texas to Bessie Kirk and James Hoyt Lunsford on March 26, 1937. She was an only child. Her mom passed away when she was 16. Her father married Helen Lunsford who was a wonderful women and was an amazing mother to her and her two adopted sons who became her brother Jack and Jerry Johnson. She married the love of her life Denver Alderson Young on December 31, 1961. They had two boys Darren and Randall Young. They adopted their daughter Angela Faith Young in December 1976. Her husband passed away April 8, 2021. Novell passed away less than a year later March 26, 2022.

In Loving Memory Novell L. Young February 26, 1937 - March 26, 2022 Novell Lunsford Young was born February 26th, 1937 in Garrison, Texas to James Hoyt Lunsford and Bessie B. Lunsford. Novell put up a courageous fight, unfortunately, she lost her battle on March 26, 2022. Novell was a wonderful sister, a loving wife, a terrific mother, and a great friend. She lost her mother at the age of 17 and her dad when she was 31. Her dad remarried to a wonderful woman we knew as “Grandmother” Helen Lunsford. Novell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Denver Young, and her brother Jerry Johnson. She is survived her children Darren Young, Randall Young and wife Jennifer, and Angela Young. She was the proud grandma to her seven grandchildren Devin, Benjamin, Matthew, Thomas, Emily, Grace and Ian. And now a great-grandchild Hudson. She is also survived by her brother Jack Johnson and wife Margie, and four sister-in-law’s, Janice Smith, Mary Johnson, Donnie Young, and Mavis Young along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Mom, know that you are loved and greatly missed, but we know that you're finally home with Dad. We only ask that you save us a seat at the table for when we can join you later. A graveside service will be held, Friday, June 17, 2022 with gate time of 10:00am in lane 1 at the Houston National VA Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, Texas, 77038, where she will be placed to rest with her Husband Denver Young. There will also be a Celebration of Life to celebrate our beautiful mother's 85 blessed years
