  • Introduction

    Oretha Scott, 54, of Nebo went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2007 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. She was born in Burke County to the late James Willie Scott and Odie Withrow Scott. Surviving are her son, Gary Scott of Nebo; a daughter, Siletha Scott of Glen Alpine; two brothers, James W. Scott Jr. of Nebo and Ronald W. Scott of Spindale; a sister, Violet Freeman of Marion; three grandchildren, Ronald Davis Jr., Shacodie Dennetta Scott and Brendon Laveall Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion on June 17, 2007 at 4 p.m. Published by The McDowell News from Jun. 18 to Jun. 25, 2007
