Phillip Carl Szurgot of Burleson, Johnson County, Texas was born on July 25, 1949 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County to Benjamin Szurgot and Maxine (Steelman) Szurgot. He had siblings Marsha Starkey, Pamela Dee Owen, and Michael Benjamin Szurgot. He married Sharon Lynn Szurgot on July 6, 1968 in Fort Worth County, TX and they later divorced in 1994 in Burleson, Johnson County. He had children Kari Lynn Szurgot, Kelly (Szurgot) Llamas, Phillip 'Jason' Szurgot, Stephanie (Szurgot) Tatum, and Matthew Szurgot. Phillip Szurgot died at age 59 years old on March 2, 2009 at Nanny's (Maxine Szurgot) house 769 N.W. Wood Ct., in Burleson, Tarrant County, and was buried at Burleson Memorial Cemetery 490 Memorial Plaza, in Burleson, Johnson County.

    BURLESON - Phillip Carl Szurgot, 59, of Burleson, a retired surveyor, died Monday, March 2, 2009, in Burleson. FUNERAL: 2.pm. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Phillip was born July 25, 1949, in Fort Worth to Benjamin B. and Maxine Steelman Szurgot. He loved his family, loved God, and was a great storyteller. His family loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Kelly Llamas. SURVIVORS: Sons, Jason and Matthew Szurgot; daughters, Kari Davis and husband, Gary, Stephanie Tatum and husband, Brian; mother of his children, Sharon Szurgot; mother, Maxine Szurgot; brothers, Mike Szurgot and his wife, Londa, Don Szurgot and wife, Cretia, Larry Szurgot and wife, Sue; sisters, Marsha Starkey, Pam Owen and husband, Dale; eight grandchildren; family friend, John Starkey; numerous nieces, nephews and other family; and many friends. - Fort Worth Star-Telegram Tuesday March 3rd 2009 page A11

Taken sometimes in the early 1980s I believe when we lived in Little Rock, Arkansas. My grandparents had come to visit us from Burleson, TX. They were all sitting around the living room visiting and I believe my Papa snapped this photo of him.
