I'll just say you didn't mess around with him. He was not into arguments, he ended them quickly. I will say this, as a Machinist and Tool Maker he had arms and hands like steel.

I remember one time out spearing eels at night from the skiff. He was up front with the spotlight and spear. My job was to follow the light. He turned the light quickly to the left and I followed with the boat and over he went. When he got back in the skiff he threw me over.
