Regis Philbin was born on August 25, 1931 in New York City, New York United States to Francis Philbin and Filomena (Boscia) Philbin, and had a brother Frank M Philbin. He married Catherine (Faylen) Philbin in 1955 and they later divorced in 1968. They had children Amy Philbin and Daniel Philbin. He would also marry Joy (Senese) Philbin in 1970, and they were married until Regis' death on July 24, 2020. They had a child Joanna Philbin.

Regis Philbin was one of the most recognized television personalities having worked as a talk show host, game show host, actor and presenter. He holds the Guinness World Record for the most hours on U.S. television. His first talk show The Regis Philbin Show began in 1961 in San Diego which later became syndicated nationally in 1964.

Talk show host, game show host, actor, singer and author. His earliest show business work was as a page at The Tonight Show in 1955 and later became the announcer of the program in 1962. His first talk show The Regis Philbin Show began in 1961 in San Diego which later became syndicated nationally in 1964. In 1967 he played Joey Bishop's sidekick in The Joey Bishop Show and from 1975 through 1981 he co-hosted the local morning talk show A.M. Los Angeles. In the 1980s he hosted Lifestyles with Regis Philbin on Lifetime and of course he is best known for Live with Regis and Kathie Lee which would later become Live with Regis and Kelly.

Sadly, Regis Philbin died last Friday at the age of 88. In breaking Hugh Downs' record of the most hours on tv, he became a staple in all of our homes. RIP Regis.
