  • Introduction

Richard Sinatra - Junior yearbook photo
Richard Sinatra - Junior yearbook photo
This photo is of Richard Sinatra taken in the 1951 Downey Union High School yearbook photo. This photo was taken of the student performers in their presentation of "Mother is a freshman". The yearbook reads:

Whirling into the exciting events of the year was this year's junior class. Contributing to the big events of the year were the "Junior Stars," in the exciting hit, "Mother Is A Freshman." This profitable enterprise provided funds for the ensuing and much-awaited "Jamboree," the Junior-Senior Prom. Many junior guys and gals gave their time and energy for the success of the event of the year. Bows and beaux, fun and flowers, moonlight and mooning were found aplenty with every one having a whirlin' good time on the gay night of May 25th.

Richard is shown here in the middle between Charles Cornett (left) and Alvin Boyd (right).
