People we remember
Biographies are where we share about family & friends to connect with others who remember them.
Bellamy Larose:
"Thuy, you were such a great friend to hang out with. It was so shocking to hear that you've died suddenly from a vehicular accident. I've always wanted to ask you if you wanted to be best friends with me but I've obviously missed that chance. So, I hope you'll rest in peace and I miss you, friend."

Jessica Christensen:
Nola was my Great Grandmother. She had a very sweet soul. We all miss her very much. In her older years when she had to move from Picayune to Gulfport to live with her son and daughter, she gifted me with her daylillies and amaryllis' from her flower garden. I still have to this day.

F Stover:
What Emily was like - Emily was born at home in Carmichael, CA like her older sister Kira. She liked cats a lot and had a wild imagination. She could be excitable and very playful at times and she had a couple close female friends. Emily liked hiking around Trinidad beach and the redwoods with her sisters. She wanted to own love birds, so she saved up some money and bought two beautiful birds which she cherished. Her last school was Sunny Brae Middle School in Arcata, CA.
Beth Zerfas:
Beth Zerfas - Growing up I remember Josephine and her sister Helen. Josephine and her sister were good friends with my grandmother Florence Bazany. I remember visiting them with my grandmother, at their house where the sisters lived together. If I remember correctly they only lived a few blocks away from my grandmother off of Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. In the later years of their life, my family invited the sisters for holidays so they wouldn’t be alone. I remember Josephine being very quiet. I was told she was a teacher and had never married. She was very petite and had a warm smile. Thinking of the Tarski sisters brings back fond memories of my grandmother and her friends.
Catherine Mitchell:
My sweet friend - Shanna was funny, and kind. She could be tough but she was also gentle. Shanna was a good friend to me, and since she was a year older than I was, I looked up to her. I miss her dearly, and I swear I still can hear her laugh when I close my eyes and think of her. I remember sharing baby-doll dresses and jeans because those were the style back then but neither of us had much so our wardrobe doubled when we shared! To this day I carry a little guilt with me that I didn't hangout with her that day like she asked (I was upset over something silly as a young girl) because maybe she would not have gone to that house where she was shot and would instead still be here with us. I am so sorry she was taken from this world so young, and in such a tragic way. I hope she knows I still visit her gravesite, and will never forget her as long as I live. I have told my husband and my children about her too, so she can live on even longer in their memories, knowing she was special to me.
June Wantland:
Grandma - Elizabeth Reynolds was my step father's mother. To me she was Grandma. She was a creative sewer and even made rugs. She had a huge garden full of vegetables and flowers every year. She canned all kinds of things: pickles, relishes, jams and jellies. Food at her house was always a delight. She subscribed to many magazines and was very well read on many topics. She had a collection of children's story books which she always read to me and my cousin when we visited. She opened many doors for me at a time when I needed a roll model.
Georgia Jones:
Bessie B. Brady Sims Is My Mother - My name is Georgia Sims Jones. My mother's name is Bessie Brady, daughter of Dr. Dennis C. Brady, a doctor for the Indian Reservations in the 1900's also the citizens in and around Cabiness, OK. , Indian Territory at the time. My mom often went on calls with him because he was a single father and no one to care for her. When she became a little older she became his helper or nurse. She and my father, Jesse/Jessie F. Sims married in 1916. My father, his mother and sister lived on an Indian Reservation until he was 9 years old, since his father was killed in a railroad incident when my dad was 3 days old. My siblings and I have always been told my Grandmother Sims was an Indian. We have always believed and hope this is true, but we have no actual proof. We always were told her name was Armittie. If she had another given name or an Indian one we never knew. Lately on ancestry there's been several names mentioned, two mentioned being Armitta Lockhart Leach the other Matilda Lou Lockhart. I have seen conflicting information and some is much like we were told, We know very little about our ancestry/heritage. Any help would be considered and appreciated.

Lance Overson:
🌟 **Remembering Mom's Joyful Spirit** 🌟
When I was nine, I remember the magic moments dancing with my mom to "Everybody's Dancing to the Locomotion" and "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)." We laughed so hard, tears streamed down our faces. On countless evenings, she would come home from work, dance around the living room, and play her beloved organ. Music and laughter filled our home, accompanied by our two Siamese cats, two dogs, a duck, and even a chicken she bought me from the Indio Date Festival.
My mom had a deep love for "The Sound of Music" and a long-standing devotion to the soap opera "As the World Turns," which she followed for 50 years. Beyond her entertainment passions, she found joy in swimming, sailing, and immersing herself in a good book.
She loved the desert; however, when vacations came around, she loved to travel in our motor home to the beach and across the U.S. to Wisconsin to visit relatives and reunions. We took many trips to Chicago, La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Kenosha, Wisconsin. Every five years or so, we'd drive or fly. One year, we drove up the coast to Oregon in our motor home—a very beautiful and truly happy time. We visited Mount Shasta and hiked up part of the mountain. My dad said there had been UFO sightings there. We didn't see any, but we felt a very spiritual energy. We rented a party barge, and my mom and dad skied behind it—barely, but they did. I was pulled on an inner tube. We found a cliff with a rope hanging from a tree. My mom had no fear and was the first to jump. Her landing was into the water with hardly any splash. She said to me, "Now I expect a flip and a half from you." I made the flip, though my landing wasn't as great.
After work, she taught swimming and diving lessons, as well as life-saving classes.
These beautiful memories reflect the vibrant, loving, and spirited woman she was. Her energy and enthusiasm for life continue to inspire me every day. ❤️
