Shortly after his birth, he and his family moved to Granby, Grand, Colorado, USA and then on to Big Pine, Inyo, California, USA. On November 4, 1938 he married LouVisa Riggan (1913–2000). Robert was an Engineer and he and his wife lived in Bakersfield, California, USA.
