    Robert Samuel Miller Robert Samuel Miller, 72, and resident of 1613 Maryland Ave., died at 12:10 o'clock this morning at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Miller was a native of Virginia, and had been retired since 1948. He began his apprenticeship in shipbuilding at Newport News, Va., in 1900 and worked in the Newport News Shipyard for 35 years. He was the son of the late Robert D. Miller and Virginia Hudgins Miller. He was married twice, the first time to Mary Williams, who died in 1918. His second marriage was in 1922 to Miss Ila Aherron of Danville, Va., who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters by his first marriage, Mrs. Louisa Baxter of Newport News. Va. and Mrs. Margaret Russell of Miami, Fla.; one daughter by his second marriage, Miss Ann Miller of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Capt. George F. Miller of Matthews County, Va. Three sisters, Mrs. John F. Jarvis of Warwick, Va., Mrs. Ruby Mountcastle, Va. and Mrs. Jefferson C. Phillips of Hampton, Va. The body will be removed Thursday to Newport News, Va., where funeral services will be held on Friday at the graveside at St. Johns Cemetery. The Rev. F. E. Spiess, pastor of the local Seventh Day Adventist Church, will officiate. The family has requested flowers be omitted.
