Samuel Pope 1847 - 1921

Samuel Pope was born in 1847 to Samuel Pope and Mary Edwards. He was in a relationship with Sarah Jane (Bedford) Pope, and had children Charles James Bedford Pope, Samuel Ernest Pope, Hubert Graham Pope, Verdon Leslie Pope, Willis Gordon Pope, and Spencer Gerald Pope. Samuel Pope died at age 74 years old in 1921.

  • Introduction

    The Age, Melbourne. 21st January 1921. The death occurred at his residence, Station-street, Box Hill, on Thursday after- noon, of Mr. Samuel Pope, at the age of 72 years. He was one of the oldest residents of the district, and for nearly 30 years occupied the position of Shire Inspector. Deceased had also served for a term as Shire Councilor, and at one time was local municipal auditor.

    The Argus, Melbourne. 21st January 1921. POPE.- On the 20th January, at his residence, corner of Station and Oxford streets, Box Hill, Samuel, beloved husband of Sarah Pope, in his 72nd year. Passed peacefully away.
