Simeon Johnson Leake was born on January 25, 1821 in Albany, Albany County, New York United States to John W. Leake and Julia Johnson, and had siblings Frederic Leake, John Shipman Leake, Horace W. Leake, Lucretia Leake, and Catherine Yates Leake. He married Hannah Jane Morrow, and had children James Henry Leake, Hannah Morrow Leake, and Simeon Johnson Leake Jr.. Simeon Leake died at age 74 years old on March 10, 1895 in Albany, and was buried in March 1895 at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.

Introduction

Simeon was named for his maternal grandfather. Main occupation: banking Simeon wed on Sept.1,1846 in Albany, N.Y. to Hannah Jane Morrow and had 4 children. A photo of him taken about 1894 survives today ( 2014 ) and shows him with his grandson, John Willard Leake. His relation to this writer is great-great-granduncle.
