  • Obituary

    tephen Hyland Tyler, 48, of Gaffney, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2009. Born in Horry County, he was the husband of Kim (Barnhill) Tyler, the father of the late Abby Leigh Tyler, and the son of Carolyn (Graham) Campbell and Johnny Campbell of Gaffney. He was the co-owner/operator of Tyler Home Center, a graduate of Wofford College, and a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Church Treasurer and Sunday School teacher. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Megan Tyler of the home; one brother, Shannon Tyler and wife, Stephanie of Gaffney. The family received friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, 805 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340.
