He married Annabelle (Hamman) Lewis, and had children Theora Ann Lewis, Theodore R Lewis, William C Lewis, Carol Ann Lewis, and Cathy Lynn (Lewis) Colapietro. Theodore Lewis died at age 81 years old on September 21, 1999, and was buried at Violet Hill Cemetery 1700 Park St, in Perry, Dallas County, Iowa United States.
