Thomas Hebbert Boykett of South Melbourne, Port Phillip City County, VIC Australia was born in 1856 to Charles Boykett and Catherine Hannah Cronin. He had siblings Emily Maud Boykett Freeman, Annie Mason (Boykett) Calder, Robert Maurice Boykett, Ada Ellen Boykett, Frank King Boykett, and Charles Bolton Boykett. Thomas Boykett died at age 22 years old in 1878 in South Melbourne.

In 1856, in the year that Thomas Hebbert Boykett was born, on February 18th, The American Party, also called the "Know-Nothings" because they were an anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant movement, assembled in Philadelphia to nominate their first Presidential candidate, former President Millard Fillmore. The party sought to keep the "purity" of elections by blocking "impure" foreigners.

In 1860, at the age of only 4 years old, Thomas was alive when on April 3rd, the Pony Express began its first delivery from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California. The trip took 10 days and the riders carried 49 letters, five telegrams, and newspapers for San Francisco and other cities along the way.
