Thomas Jefferson Goodson was born on December 9, 1846 in Covington County, Mississippi United States to Thomas Narl Goodson and Elizabeth (Stewart) Goodson, and had a brother Narl Goodson. He married Ellen (Waggoner) Goodson, and they were married until death separated them. He had children Vivian (Goodson) Woodward and Lola (Goodson) Woodward. Thomas Goodson died at age 68 years old on September 28, 1915 in Campti, Natchitoches Parish County, Louisiana.

Introduction

Thomas Jefferson Goodson is the child of Thomas Narl Goodson (1821 - 1870) and Elizabeth (Stewart) Goodson ( March 26, 1826- November 10, 1912). He had a brother named Narl Lar Goodson and Thomas was born in either 1850 or 1846. His brother Narl was married to Ellen Waggoner, and after his brother's death, Thomas married Ellen on Decemebr 29, 1882 in Campti, Natchitoches, Louisiana, USA. They had children Ursula (1884-1967), Josephine Agnes (1885-1948), Dennis (1890-1956), Ellis Joseph (1892-1934), Thomas Jefferson (1894-1980), Oma Gabriel (1894-1973), Lola (1896-1980), Emeline (1898-1978), and Vivian Goodson (1900-1980). He was arrested for murder on July 14, 1905, read more here Alleged Assassins . However on August 11, 1909 he was pardoned.

Alleged Assassins

Two White Men and Negro Charged With Murder Near Campti. Special to The Times.
Natchitoches, La., July 14.-Tom Goodson, white, Mack Malfous, his son-in-law, a Syrian, and Jules Silvie, colored, were arrested and brought to town yesterday under an indictment by the grand Jury charging them with the murder of Ozeme Desidere, a full account of which appeared in The Times, News was received late last night of the death, In Austin, Tex., of S. E. Russ, Jr. M. H. Carver, brother-in-law of deceased, left yesterday evening for Allen, La., the residence of the deceased.
He is survived by a widow and three children. A telegram was received today that the deceased will be buried tomorrow on the arrival of the body at Frierson.
