Walter Harold Wilson Crowe of Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia was born in 1894 in Geelong to Mary Anne (Membrey) Crowe and Albert Ebenezer Russell Crowe. He had siblings Albert Roy Crowe, Albert Edward Crowe, and James Alfred Crowe. He married Harriet Ann Randle in 1920, and had children John Albert Crowe and Dorothy May Crowe. Walter Crowe died at age 62 years old in 1956 in Heidelberg, City of Banyule County.

Previously thought to be "useless" land - not even good for farming - the tribe had bought the land themselves. The discovery of oil made the Osage the "richest group of people in the world" at the time.
