  • Obituary

The Gippsland Farmers Journal. Traralgon. Vic. 5th May 1903. Another old resident passed away at Traralgon on Saturday in the person of Mr. Wm. Cribbins, brother of Mesdames Moore, Youlden and Greaves, of Toongabbie. The deceased had been in a bad state of health, both physically and mentally, for some considerable time, but he appeared no worse on Friday evening. On going to his room on the following morning, however, his daughter (Mrs. A. Beaton) found him dead in bed, having, apparently, passed away in his sleep. The police were communicated with, and the death was reported by Senior constable Middleditch to Mr. T. A. Pettit, J.P. - As all circumstances pointed to senile decay, a magisterial inquiry was not considered necessary. The deceased was a colonist of 52 years standing, and came to this district over 20 years ago from the Creswick goldfield. He was one of the first selectors on the Traralgon Creek. The interment took place at Bluff Cemetery on Sunday.
