He had a sister Sarah Ann Leckie Braybrook. He married Elizabeth Maud (Sargent) Leckie in 1902, and had children Ivy May Leckie, Violet Maud Leckie, William Victor Leckie, Alan Ellis Leckie, Ethel Mavis Leckie, Albert Edwin Leckie, Seymour Leckie, Walter Leonard Leckie, and Selena Leckie. William Leckie died at age 73 years old on February 24, 1954 in Ballarat.
