Found in O'Neil/Walsh family album. '9th Regiment' written on bottom. No other identification.

No id for any men in this photo. 9th Regiment Mass Infantry was comprised of mostly men of Irish birth. Also cannot find record of my direct ancestors having served (although their graves are marked as 'veteran'. Many Walshes & O'Neils were in this regiment.

Organized at Boston June 11, 1861. Left State for Washington, D.C., June 27. Attached to Sherman's Brigade, Division of the Potomac, to October, 1861. Morrell's Brigade, Porter's Division, Army of the Potomac, to March, 1862. 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 3rd Army Corps, Army of the Potomac, to May, 1862. 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 5th Army Corps, Army of the Potomac, to June, 1864.
