1939 Peabody High School yearbook photo of Bernard Nangle. His favorite quote was "Leaders are born, not made" and it says that he was a member of the Glee Club and Golf team. The yearbook describes him as: "Bernie" is that quiet type of person who realizes that life is worthwhile if we make it so. He is an exceptionally good golfer, and his willingness to be friendly are bound to "put him over."

A Christmas Photo card in 1955? Yes, if your Dad was a commercial photographer! My Dad make several photo Christmas cards with his own photos of me. They may be all the rage now, but they were unique back then. Burbank Studios in Boston, Ken Burbank was my father. Well done, Dad!

A snapshot of the Ashenden family found at a Texas antique store with other photos of the Ashenden family of Massachusetts. Description uploaded separately. The older baby on the left is identified as Richard Murray, but Richard apparently wasn't born until after his grandfather Daniel (holding the little boy) had died. I think the boy is therefore more likely to be Richard's brother Edward. Left to right: Daniel C. Evans holding Edward Francis Murray; Eva (Ashenden) Murray, Thomas Edward Ashenden holding Harley Elizabeth (Frye) Fowler; Lillian (Ashenden) Frye-Lawton.

Found in an antique store. Name on back "Jennie Howe Barri". Photographer information "Geo. H. Van Norman, Springfield, Mass." Note all the beads sewn onto her dress. I wonder if she made it herself or had a seamstress do it. Her first husband, Benjamin Porter Howe, was the nephew of Elias Howe, Jr. who invented the sewing machine.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Edith M. TYER which was taken at the Purdy Studio in Boston, MA in about 1898. Edith would appear to be in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Edith and her family: Edith Margaret TYER was b. 19 Aug 1880 in Andover, MA to Horace Henry TYER (1844-1907) and Catherine or Katharina Susan BUSS (b. 1854). Edith was one of four children born to this couple including, Edith Margaret; Carrie Elizabeth; Henry George; and Frances Louise TYER, all born between 1879 and 1886. Edith married Professor Donald MCFAYDEN (b. 1876 in Owens Sound, Ontario, Canada-1951 – son of Charles MCFAYDEN and Mary A. Edith died 10 Mar 1858 in St. Louis, MO and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Bel-Nor, MO. Census records provide the following details: 1880 census of Andover, MA: Horace H.
